La Chiesa Elettrica

Well, BAM! Lookie here, the Italian version of The Electric Church apparently exists. This cover frightens me. I want to put the angry man into the freezer and leave the lights on. The question is, will that be good or bad for book sales?

Check out more info (in ialtiano) here.

I won’t be able to sleep tonight. Thanks for this.

Take the nightmare off the cover and it actually seems pretty friendly. Simply font, nice colors, then BAM LOOK AT THIS OLD CYBORG READY TO FROWN YOU TO DEATH.

Whoa! Who is this guy?! It’s like he’s disapproving of my lifestyle…in Italian!

I wonder what his barber thinks of that hairdo, must really bugger up his scissors.

yeah, but why the Matrix Sentinels on his shoulders? The original cover is much stronger than this cheap photoshop collage…

I have to say I kind of like the fact that they chose to illustrate Dennis Squalor (I’m assuming here) rather than Cates or a Monk as others have done. Poor Squalor gets short shrift.

I think this cover is totally accidental… they probably didn’t give any brief to the artist… or the artist is just a Photoshop amateur. A Stephen Martiniere poor clone.

Hello from Italy! The cover artist is actually quite good… not this time, though. I just finished reading the book and i was pleasantly suprised, i feared a bad cyberpunk novel and.. well, now i can’t wait for the sequel. You can find my review (in italian) of the novel here: http://cumbrugliume.blogspot.com/2009/11/jeff-somers-la-chiesa-elettrica.html

    Limerick,

Thanks for posting! I actually like the cover – it was startling at first, but it’s grown on me. Thanks also for the review – my Italian is not very good, but I think I got the jist of it!

    Best
    Jeff
